View of the water.
Tiens Broek in Tienen is a nature reserve located on the edge of the decantation basins of the Tien sugar refinery in the valley of the Grote Gete. The decantation basins are a disturbance in the landscape, but very popular with numerous waders. These come here to forage during spring and autumn migration. There are also some abandoned sedimentation basins with marshy vegetation where bluebirds, reed buntings and others breed. The valley is also an important migration route for numerous birds. On peak days in spring and autumn, red and black kites, osprey, white and black storks and many more whole species can be seen here, among others. The shots were taken on a sunny winter morning in January.
