This is a picture of what was once the largest wine cellar of Europe. Built halfway through the 20th century with the purpose of storing and shipping as much wine as possible. Later, due to circumstances (trading by sea), the ground floor was used as a customs office till the end of the 20th century. Since then it's been abandoned and looted of its copper pipes and many other items.
It's a relic of the industrial past.
Roman Robroek is a photographer who captures forgotten places around the world. In particular, he is focused on creating stunning pho-tos of abandoned locations, rich with wonder, mystery and unanswered questions.
