In a small lake in the Pilanesberg Park in Africa, I came across this pair of elephants in love. The animals were holding a mating ritual which included twisting their trunks together. Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 (#WPY59). All my pictures were taken in the wild, so nothing from the zoo! I have been photographing since I was twelve years old and the focus has always been on nature photography. In the Netherlands I mainly look at birds, but abroad mammals also have my interest.
