Jökulsárlón lies south of the Vatnajökull Glacier, between the Skaftafell and the town of Höfn, and is the most famous and largest glacial lake in Iceland.
The ring road runs right past it, it is easily accessible.
In the lake, white, light blue and by volcanic dust gray and black icebergs float around. They have the most flared shapes.
With a depth of about 200 meters, Jökulsárlón is currently the second deepest lake in the country. It was created in the years 1934-1935 and became bigger and bigger.
