Johanna le Gillon, wife of Hieronymus van Beverningk, Jan de Baen, 1670
The portraits of Johanna le Gillon and her husband are still in their original frame: carved from lime wood and gilded haut-reliefs, completely symmetrical to each other. In the corners are pairs of putti (children's figures) collecting roses. Tendrils and wreaths of oak leaf, bay leaf and bear claw adorn the frame border. The motto at the bottom means: 'A satisfied heart is a great good'.
