Landing Saab 37 Viggen.
Saab 37 Viggen of the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight.
The Swedish Saab 37 Viggen (Viggen is Swedish for lightning bolt) succeeded the Saab J 35 Draken. The aircraft was developed in attack, fighter, photo reconnaissance, air defence and training versions.
The first flight of the aircraft took place in February 1967, and in April 1968 the Swedish Air Force ordered 180 Viggens. A two-seat version of this aircraft was also developed; the first two-seat version made its maiden flight in July 1970.
Although the aircraft was also offered as an export version and Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark were seriously interested in the aircraft as a possible successor to the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, these countries ultimately chose the US F-16.
This picture was taken on 9 September 2023 during the airshow at Belgium's Kleine Brogel Air Base.
