Large sailing ship in oil paint look. This large sailing ship in the foreground is the Bark Europa. Next to it are 2 more sailing ships. The Europa was built as a lightship in 1911 at a shipyard in Hamburg and was initially named Senator Brockes. The German Coast Guard had the ship in service on the Elbe until 1977.
In 1985 the remains of the ship were bought by a Dutch buyer, who resold it to the current owner. The ship was converted to a sailing ship in Amsterdam and renamed the Europa in 1994. The Europa has 16 crew members and 48 trainees can board.
The photo of these ships was taken on the North Sea. Because I like the old masters look so much I tried to make an oil look alike painting from this photo.
The sky shows a bit of drama and the colors are pastel.
You can often find this in paintings by the old masters.
The color scheme is such that it will look good in many rooms on the wall. The effect is most beautiful when this picture is printed on canvas.
The image is somewhat medieval. There are quite a few details, but they have been given an oil paint look. This means that the imagination/fantasy will have to give it its own interpretation. That makes the style of the old masters so beautiful, enough to see, not entirely clear but stimulating the imagination. This way you can see it differently every time and it also gives peace to the image.
One day it's flowers, the next day it's animals or a landscape, or just an object.
A little experimenting with colours, depth, my imagination and creativity suits me.
Creating a certain feeling, moment or atmosphere in a photo (end product) depends on my mood. If the mood is not there for a moment, there is no product.
My name is Marcel Kieffer and I'm a mood photographer. Once the mood is right and the subject is chosen, there will be visible inspiration and creativity in the end result.
I can spend days working on a photo (product), preparing it, making it and post-processing it, because I'm not easily satisfied.
In order to stand out from the crowd, you must not copy anyone's works or ideas and continue to follow your own path, in my case the path of the mood. That's why, in my opinion, my end products don't quickly resemble someone else's either.
With my pictures I at least want to draw you into a certain atmosphere. Going outdoors, into nature pleases me very much, but producing something at home also happens regularly. It all depends on where I am at that moment and on my mood! In order to remain versatile I try out different subjects and situations, this keeps me sharp and broad and it is instructive.
