This maritime landscape photograph was taken during my Easter trip on 22 April 2022 with the NIKON D800. The reduction of the colours to classic black and white lends the motif an elegant and timeless atmosphere. The dramatic cloudy sky gives the motif an exciting, dynamic aura and a very special, mysterious image effect.
Palermo is the capital of the Italian island of Sicily and a very popular destination for Mediterranean cruises in the western Mediterranean. The large cruise ships from Aida, Costa, MSC, TUI Cruises & Co. regularly dock in Palermo. It is worth taking a first look at the beautiful Sicilian harbour city when the cruise ship arrives and seeing the first of countless sights.
Palermo has several large jetties for cruise ships, which are located next to each other. The moorings at the port of Palermo are within sight of the city centre, so you can be in the centre of Palermo in just a few minutes. You can then easily and conveniently explore Palermo city centre on your own.

"The photographic image process represents my personal work and creation area. This means dealing with image worlds, politics, human needs and sensitivities. The camera expands my scope to meet that other reality. Photography makes me happy, creates joy, closes boundaries, opens new doors, widens horizons. The camera teaches me to see, to sharpen the view, to capture moments, to perceive fleeting moments that are not visible to others. I am a creative person, a picture-maker, who draws on herself, does not copy a lot and develops her own imagery. So I move between the poles, reach different fixed points, look behind the scenes. Out of the thousandfold existing I manage to bring out something unique, unique moments of the picture."
