The lava flows flowing from the Fagradalsfjall volcano create all kinds of abstract shapes. The glowing red lava forms a beautiful contrast to the black lunar landscape.
In March 2021, the Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted in Iceland. An active volcano with eruptions of unprecedented magnitude. When the volcano was still active two months later, I grabbed my chance and booked a flight. It was an indescribable experience to watch from about 250 meters distance how the lava kept shooting up to 400 meters into the air.
