During our vacations, we like to go off the beaten path. Last summer we drove in Norway towards the Geirangerfjord. It had been raining all day and I had not yet been able to take a nice picture. I didn't find the landscape very impressive yet. At one point there was a simple wooden sign on the right side of the road saying "Geirangerfjord" on the right. When we literally turned the corner there, the landscape changed completely. Large eroded valleys, lots of water, remnants of snow and threatening skies. Not much later we were able to stop at the spot where this picture was taken. This allowed us to recover from the impressions we had just received. All at once I saw a little red house, with behind it a valley carved by a glacier. The red house stood out beautifully against the gray sky and the gray-blue rock of the fjord behind it. As I stood near the red cottage, I could see even further into the fjord. What puny creatures we humans are.
A beautiful picture for a rural setting.
Since a few years I have discovered the passion for photography. I call myself primarily an outdoor photographer: when I'm outside, my eye scans the surroundings, looking for that one image that catches my eye, and which I can then take a nice picture of.
