Caboclos are a population group in Brazil of people of mixed indigenous and European descent. In other countries these people are called mestizos. Most caboclos are found in the Amazon region.

Leo Putz (Meran, South Tyrol, Austria-Hungary, June 18, 1869 - Meran, South Tyrol, Italy, July 21, 1940) was an Italian painter. His early work is considered Jugendstil, later he worked mainly in the style of impressionism. The artist studied at the 'Akademie der Bildenden Künste' in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. From 1901 onwards, Putz worked a lot 'en plein air'. He mainly painted female figures, regularly also nudes.
