The International Congress Centre (ICC) in Berlin was designed by Berlin architects Ralf Schüler and Ursulina Schüler-Witte. Materials used are mainly concrete, aluminium, glass and steel.
It is one of the largest convention centres in the world. The building has been closed for some time. There is talk of renovating the ICC to bring it back into use. One of the problems is asbestos. Every now and then, the building is open for a few days for visitors to discover the extraordinary interior for themselves. The chairs and other interior elements were specially designed for the building as part of a "total work of art".
These are large, steel entrance doors for the material of the fairs' participants. There are separate entrances for visitors. A bridge construction connects the building to the adjacent exhibition building, the Messe.
Specialized in landscapes and nature, especially in the Netherlands. The Veluwe forests and the waterfront are common subjects, sometimes with the contrast of nature and human traces.
