Lighthouse on the dune near Dishoek, Zeeland (NL). In contrast to the lighthouses I have seen in the area, these are not round but square in terms of construction and built with red and yellow bricks. This lighthouse is beyond the post of lifeguards, further on the dune, past the steep passage to the beach, is the second tower. These are visible at a distance and give a red light in the evening and at night. The dune ridge runs for miles as does the beach and connect Dishoek with the coastline of Zoutelande. These lighthouses are called light stands and together form a light line in a north-westerly direction to guide ships safely through the channel. These light stands bear the names Kaapduinen Hoog and Kaapduinen Laag and were built in 1951, unfortunately they are not open to the public.
