The aurora is a phenomenon of light in the Earth's atmosphere. It is often a light glow or consists of moving arcs, rays or curtains of light; very rarely it is even flaming. Sometimes there is an arch on the northern horizon from which the rays of light shoot up like searchlights.
The aurora is caused by the solar wind. This solar wind is particularly strong during eruptions (of plasma clouds) on the sun, where large quantities of charged particles are thrown into the universe. Then the aurora also becomes more visible to extremely strong.
The subjects I look for are nature, mostly landscapes, but also animals and plants can come in front of the lens. Especially dramatic images appeal to me. Sometimes I also look for more graphic and abstract images. For me it's all about just making the images that make.. Read more…
