The Blue-throated Macaw is an endangered bird. It is still possible to see them in the Barba Azul Nature Reserve in Bolivia. This pair of Blue-throated macaws had to show that they liked each other by rubbing their heads together. All my pictures were taken in the wild, so nothing from the zoo! I have been photographing since I was twelve years old and the focus has always been on nature photography. In the Netherlands I mainly look at birds, but abroad mammals also have my interest. I often travel with the purpose of seeing a certain animal. For the story behind the pictures and many more pictures go to my website: https://www.naturebylennart.com.
