In a beautiful old abandoned and dilapidated villa, I came across this magnificent ceiling. The whole villa was stunning, but when I looked up, this image took my breath away. What wonderful details, and the subdued colours, the beautiful light through the windows high at the top, it was overwhelming. The walls, ceiling and all the applied ornaments are beautifully painted, murals have been painted on the walls, and the mint green colour is special and very rare in these monumental buildings. This abandoned villa is particularly well preserved despite being empty for more than a decade, you have to look closely to see the paint flaking a little in some places, and the concrete starting to crumble in a few places. This photo comes out best in large format because there are so many details to see. The bigger the more there is to see and the more you get the feeling of being here yourself, looking up at the beautiful ceiling.
