Surrealistic and dreamy photo art by Ben Goossens, his favorite work and calling card inspired by the work of René Magritte.
Ben Goossens - In intimate photographic circles but also on international fora he is often referred to as the René Magritte or Dali of photography. One thing is for certain, the Belgian photographer Ben Goossens works in a self-willed and different photographic style.
He is not unfamiliar with a touch of and sometimes quite a shovel of surrealism. Often with a wink of the eye and just nice to see, but usually with a much deeper layer and meaning. Each works’ title lifts a corner of the veil, although the artist invites each visitor to look beyond the frame and provide his own interpretation of the work. It is offcourse always encouraged to use one’s own fantasy.
Drawing and photographing is part of his DNA. Ever since his art education Ben Goossens has over the past forty years dedicated himself to improve his own surrealistic style. First as an art director in the advertising business and now as an intense and emotional artist that converted his hobby into a passion. The bygone airbrush, gouache and AD markers have over the years been replaced by digital techniques. These new technologies have resulted in the works to be lifted to an entirely different level.
During his career Ben has won various prices and contests, both locally in Belgium and internationally. His works have been published in books, magazines and on multiple websites.
