A picture of a ladybird resting on a dandelion seed, photographed against a black background. This scene was captured at the end of autumn.
The image shows the tender moment when nature is in its dormant period, while the ladybird clings tightly to the seed, perhaps as shelter or in search of food. The ladybird's red shield stands out strikingly against the deep black background, creating a dramatic contrast.
Capturing this scene at the end of autumn adds an extra layer to the composition. It is a time when nature is slowly losing its colours and preparing for the arrival of the cold winter months. The vivid red of the ladybird contrasts sharply with the transience of the season.
The subtlety of the composition invites the viewer to explore the details: the shiny red shell of the ladybird, the fine texture of the seed, and the deep darkness that frames it all. The image evokes a sense of wonder at the beauty and fragility of nature, even in its most subdued moments.
In short, this photograph not only captures a visually captivating moment, but also evokes a sense of reflection on the transience of the seasons and the wonders of natural life.
It all started with a4 paper and HB pencils. As a child I was often impressed by how beautiful the world around me was. The urge to capture this beautiful world, and to show the people around me what I saw, was actually there from the beginning. If I remember correctly, I was about eleven years old when I first met the camera. Of course it was a simple compact camera with a ridiculous quality, but I enjoyed it.
I sometimes said I wanted to be a photographer, but of course you have one of the two parents who says, "Dream on." Strangely enough, I followed the sarcastic remark as advice, and still went to study photography.
