Medicine Buddha is a powerful healer, an enlightened being, a Buddha doctor, in Mahayana Buddhism. As a Buddhist I recite his mantra daily and it is very powerful. The Medicine Buddha practice can be done for anyone who is sick, dying or even who has already died. The short form of the Tibetan version of his mantra is:
TAYATA OM BHEKANDZE BHEKANDZE MAHA
BHEKANDZE RANDZA SAMUNGATE SOHA
Medicine Buddha is traditionally shown seated with a lapis-color jar of medicinal nectar in one hand and his other hand resting on his right knee with a stem of the Aruna fruit. He is described as having an aura of lapis-lazuli colored light.
In this photo art image, I have taken my own photograph of a statue of the Medicine Buddha and added a blue aura to it, indicating that we are looking through that aura to view the statue, almost a suggestion of having to look through the mists of our own delusions to see the truth.
