Centre of Leipzig in the blue hour with the Mendebrunnen fountain, located on Augustusplatz in front of the Gewandhaus (Concert Hall). It is the largest fountain in Leipzig and cost 189,000 gold marks to build. It was built by Adolf Gnauth in 1883-1886. Pauline Mende, the widow of a merchant, left her money to Leipzig to build a fountain. In her honour Leipzig gave the fountain its name.
