With 892,123 units, 74,060 of which were coupés, the Mercedes-Benz 126 series is the world's best-selling luxury sedan and thus the undisputed world market leader.
The smallest engine variant is the 280 SE, the most powerful with 220 kW/300 hp is the 560 SEL which was built from 09.1987 to 1991.
There were two series, one from 1979 to 1985 and one from 1985 to 1991, both looking almost identical on the outside. And in October the Mercedes-Benz C 126 was introduced, the coupé that started with the sales designation 380 SEC and 150 kW/204 hp and found its highest motorization with the 560 SEC and 220 kW/300 hp, all eight-cylinder V-engine.
I have been practicing vintage car photography for more than 35 years and here I mainly photograph normal everyday vehicles which were still on the road en masse over 30 years ago. But also cars with extraordinary, beautiful design. From time to time I take pictures of cars, motorcycles and trucks of recent times, when they have particularly beautiful shapes, curves and somehow tempt to dream and drive like a BMW Z8. I find these automotive beauties not only in museums, but also in specialized workshops for vintage cars, with collectors who have invited me to photograph their classics or often in dark, dusty sheds and halls or simply parked at the roadside.
