"Minimalism: Drops on a dandelion fluff" is an extreme macro photograph of fluff of a dandelion with water droplets on it. The sharpness and focus are at the point where the stalk turns into the fluffy hairs. Because the depth of field is very shallow (just a few millimetres from the point where the stalk turns into the hairs of the fluff), it creates not only a dreamy atmosphere, but also a sense of depth, as the sharpness decreases towards the front and back. This also creates abstraction.
The drops also help create this dreamy atmosphere. They reflect the light, creating sparkles and reflections in the drops between the fluffy hairs of the dandelion fluff.
In the background, you can still vaguely see areas (lines and stripes) of underlying fluff that are very much blurred by the distance.
This photo was taken with a more extreme macro lens than is normally used. This magnifies the subject even more and you start to see elements you had probably never seen before: "The wonderful world of extreme macro photography". For example, can you see the "little hooks" attached to the hairs of the lint?
Association: tranquillity, zen, water, drop, nature, abstract, fluff, white, light, natural, minimalism
Great as a wall decoration for the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or of course just above the sofa!
