Mona Lisa - Not so innocent after all, after the work of Leonardo Da Vinci The Mona Lisa, an ancient painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Who does not know the work? After all, the original painting hangs in the prestigious Louvre and attracts 20,000 tourists every day. It is mainly the mysterious gaze of the Mona Lisa that attracts people. She seems to follow you everywhere. And that smile, is so minimal yet present. She is not exuberantly happy, but subdued and content. Besides, for many, the sfumato technique that Leonardo da Vinci used is a wonderful element in the Mona Lisa. Because you can paint with oil paint wet in wet, you can make the light and dark transitions so subtle that it is barely visible where something begins and ends. The Mona Lisa is probably the portrait of Lisa Gherardini or in full Lisa di Antonmaria Gherardini di Montagliari. She was the third wife of Francesco del Giocondo, who probably commissioned the painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. In this urban street art variation, the Mona Lisa is placed in a layered digital composition, as if printed on a piece of cardboard. Perhaps for the first time, we see the Mona Lisa in a less innocent light. She sits there naked and powerful. Her gaze immediately changes to a self-conscious woman who is apparently very comfortable with the hands gripping her breasts as she is stared at by us viewers. A romper, a power woman. Comfortable with herself, in her body and in her womanhood.

I am MadameRuiz, and am an artist by profession. I hope to delight you with my work. Here in my profile, or on your wall :) Both are fun!
Will you let me know what you think of my work? I would love to get in touch with you. Also when you have one of my works in your home I am very curious about the end result in your interior.
I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.
I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.
In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
