A panorama that takes your breath away: The majestic peaks of the Allgäu Alps spread out before me, bathed in a soft summer light. From the Nebelhorn, at an altitude of 2224 metres, my gaze wanders to the south-west, where the striking peaks of the Hammerspitzen tower into the bright blue sky. The Kanzelwand rises proudly beside them, a silent witness to thousands of years of natural forces.
Further to the right, the mountain station of the Fellhorn cable car winds its way up the mountainside as a small outpost in the middle of the wilderness. Dramatic clouds gather over the Fellhorn as if to show the power of nature, while the gentler Söllereck beckons with green meadows and quiet paths.
A peaceful summer's day on which the world up here speaks to me in all its beauty and majesty. The vastness of the landscape makes me pause, take a deep breath, feel the silence - and lose myself completely in the here and now for a moment.
