The photo shows the monumental slipway on the NDSM site in Amsterdam, the Y-Helling. On the right of the photo, you can see the Faralda crane, aka Faralda Crane Hotel. From this point, you look out on river IJ towards Amsterdam Central Station and the A'DAM Tower. The photo was taken during the blue hour, the time just after sunset.
The NDSM area is currently undergoing a lot of development with the construction of many new residential towers and buildings. Yet this area has retained its raw edges and you can see the rich history of the NDSM wharf.
Renzo Gerritsen is a young and ambitious photographer, always looking for a new perspective. With his project Nachtelijk Amsterdam (Nocturnal Amsterdam) he photographs Amsterdam in a unique way, unlike any other with a fresh perspective.
In addition, Renzo made a reportage about dilapidation in Amsterdam with beautiful urbex photos from his own soil, a cruise ship from the roof of the Mövenpick Hotel and other spherical urban landscapes. Take a look between his photos.
