The name 'Nami' stands for 'wave'. The koi are positioned so that they move with the movement of the woman.
I think Japanese Koi are so beautiful and symbolise courage and strength. They are strong fish that can even swim upstream. These beautifully coloured fish can grow very old and quite large. As much as 70 to 80 centimetres and over 40 years old.
