This collage was created as part of my Art Journal and from a search for innocence and love and a new life. The love of innocence can be found in symbols such as a baby face, the rubber ducks and a skippy ball version of Barbabella. Did you know that the zucchini in the old English translation 'Marrow' stands for intimate friends? And that the zucchini also symbolizes growth and fertility? And that the toucan carries a symbolism of unity, attraction, communication, social and trust. The toucan teaches you according to the spiritual meaning to communicate your thoughts and ideas in such a way that it benefits you and the people around you and thus you bring new ideas to light on a spiritual level. And with its friendly face, the toucan is also just a very nice bird.
Whether you want to find meaning in this collage or just enjoy the playfulness of the puzzle, you can do both.
Making process:
So the collage was made as part of my art journal. In the background I painted with acrylic paint in the colors brown, green, blue and ocher on a black background. On top of that I glued various images from magazines with transparent gel, such as the baby, the rubber ducks, barbabella (from barbapapa), the courgette and the toucan. I painted over it with acrylic paint. A stripe of red above the toucan, red bells and a black border all around. In addition, I accentuated the contours with a black, white, silver and gold marker and I drew patterns of snail shells and crosses in gold and white. This gives the whole the same look and feel so that this busy collage feels like a unit. This whole was then photographed and given a digital filter. This filter ensures that the image up close (if in a large format) has beautiful abstract surfaces and you can see the image in its entirety from afar (or in miniature).
I am MadameRuiz, and am an artist by profession. I hope to delight you with my work. Here in my profile, or on your wall :) Both are fun!
Will you let me know what you think of my work? I would love to get in touch with you. Also when you have one of my works in your home I am very curious about the end result in your interior.
I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.
I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.
In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
