Night Riders is an abstract digital artwork created by a fusion between a drawing and a painting. The drawing was created using drawing techniques of pencil and charcoal and the painting consists of multiple layers of various painting techniques.
The work was inspired by a time-lapse film recording I made late at night of the traffic on the A16 freeway near Zwijndrecht.
This work actually arose out of pure curiosity. When I saw an image of the video, I wondered what such an image would look like if it were edited into a digital artwork. So let's try it!
I think the end result has something to it. I think it is a work that stimulates the imagination. The colors red, black, white, yellow and blue also combine nicely. And the light stripes give it a special dynamic.
