North American B-25 Mitchell bomber.
Legendary World War II warbird: North American B-25 Mitchell. In this case, the North American TB-25N Mitchell '02344' "Doolittle Raiders - Special Livery" (registration N333RW).
The Doolittle Raid on 18 April 1942 was the first US air raid on Tokyo during World War II. The attack showed that Japan was vulnerable to air attack and provided an opportunity for US retaliation for the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. During this air strike, 16 B-25 bombers took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, which had sailed up to about 1,000 km from the Japanese coast.

I am Jaap van den Berg and photography has become a great passion of mine since 2010. Since then I travel all over the world to take pictures of military aircrafts. But besides aircraft I also love to photograph other subjects like landscapes, architecture, flowers, animals, ships and cranes. Evening photography and macro photography are also something I enjoy doing.
