North American B-25J Mitchell "Yellow Rose".
The North American B-25 Mitchell was an American medium bomber from the aircraft manufacturer North American Aviation. During World War II, it was used on all fronts, but mainly over the Pacific.
The aircraft is known, among other things, for the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, in April 1942, led by Lieutenant Colonel Doolittle. The attack was intended to deliver a moral blow to Japan and, in particular, to give the Americans heart after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The Doolittle Raid was carried out with B-25's taking off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-8), a unique feat as the B-25 was not designed for this purpose.
Nearly 10,000 examples of the B-25 were built from 1939, the last one leaving the factory in 1945.
"Yellow Rose" was built in 1941 and was donated to the Commemorative Air Force after a complete restoration.

I am Jaap van den Berg and photography has become a great passion of mine since 2010. Since then I travel all over the world to take pictures of military aircrafts. But besides aircraft I also love to photograph other subjects like landscapes, architecture, flowers, animals, ships and cranes. Evening photography and macro photography are also something I enjoy doing.
