Back to where it all started, drawing one-line drawings digitally. I chose the Azalea this time, because the flower has such a beautiful shape with the beautiful stamens at its heart.
I drew this flower in one flowing line (continuous drawing or one-line drawing), giving it a minimalist, clean image, which does justice to the beauty of the flower.
I am always fascinated by nature and that flora in particular. the diversity, the beauty, the strength.
I look at nature, flowers and plants and all the beauty Mother Earth has to offer us. I live it, experience it, feel it and that moves me.
I see the strength and the vulnerability, the wonder and the beauty and all this gives peace, warmth, love.
We should cherish and love this. Nature can do very well without humans, we cannot do without nature!

Has it ever been different?
I was always drawing ー as early as primary school, the margin of my notebooks was full of scribbles that didn't have much to do with what was supposed to be there. A lot of nature, especially flora.
The older I got, the more impressed I became with nature: the blooms, the awe-inspiring beauty, the details of flora.
I kept drawing that in everything I did. On paper, digitally, more or less minimalist and sometimes abstract. The playful minimalism and harmony of line drawings fit me like a warm coat. The rendering of transparency and contrasts clarify the essence of the subject and create a calm image. Sleek and sober with sometimes a fresh accent, that's what I love.
My work was used several times in the television programme 'VT-Wonen, fall in love with your house again'. In the coffee book of 'Werk aan de muur', an anniversary edition published in 2022, a page was dedicated to my work.
