The "OPEL REKORD P2" was built from 1960 - 1963 and was an upper middle class car. The P stood for the panoramic window and was subsequently also used for the predecessor. It was available as a 2 and 4 door model, as well as a coupé and a caravan. The engine was kept rather small, although it already had a 1.5 or 1.7 liter engine. Given the performance of the time and the low weight of just about 1,000 kg, this was just about enough.
Until the end of production, 556,691 units were produced in various locations in Europe, including the GM assembly plant in Biel, Switzerland.
