A digitized photograph of a very imposing Buddha against a red background, flanked on both sides by guardian Foo Dogs, also known as Chinese Guardian Lions, sits at the entrance to one of the oriental gardens in the Monte Palace Tropical Gardens in Madeira, Portugal. The gardens belong to a beautiful palace that was a famous hotel in the 18th Century. The Palace is now a museum and the gardens open to the public.
