Monte Palace Tropical Gardens are situated in Madeira, Portugal. The gardens belong to a beautiful palace that was a famous hotel in the 18th Century, but the Palace is now a museum and the gardens are open to the public. The garden itself is large and on multi-levels with exotic trees, flowers and ponds all linked with pathways. Several zones follow themes and there are two oriental sections with red handrails and pagodas reminiscent of Japanese style as can be clearly seen in this image. You can also see that standing on one of the upper levels of the gardens provides a wonderful view down toward Funchal and the sea, albeit it was quite hazy the day I visited after a storm.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and writer, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
