My Mother lives in Brighton in the UK and for her 80th birthday we took a trip out to somewhere neither of us had ever visited before, Arundel in West Sussex. We parked the car in the designated parking area outside the main town area and walked in. As we entered the town we walked over this lovely bridge with Arundel Castle and its glorious turrets towering over us and timber framed buildings in front of us. It was quite magical and inviting! An incredible collection of architecture and feast for the eyes.
We had a great day out in Arundel but what really set the scene was this lovely view as we arrived. There is a lot more to Arundel than the castle (established during the reign of Edward The Confessor), though it tends to dominate the town as you would expect. There are some lovely tea rooms (traditional English breakfasts and afternoon teas), unique gift shops and quite a few antique shops to browse in.
