In the Moroccan coastal town of Essaouira, blue is king. You come across the colour in all sorts of places. For small displays and doors, the colour is a favourite. However, headscarves and other clothing is also often blue. In the coastal town's many narrow streets, weathered doors offer access to houses, shops and that which remains hidden. Because that is obvious in this country: behind the doors is a beautiful Morocco. However, when you look closely at the doors, even the overdue maintenance, the flaking paint and the once beautiful colours reveal their beauty. I have listed 6 of them here in a panorama.
