This is a panoramic photo of the Bødalsbreen, a glacier that is part of the Jostedalsbreen National Park in Norway. My husband and I took a beautiful walk to this glacier through an impressive valley (see the photo "Valley near Bødalsbreen in Norway" in my shop).
Seeing the glacier at the end of the route was the icing on the cake and a special experience. As a human being, it gives you a very small feeling to be involved in something so big and powerful. Especially when you know that this piece of glacier is part of the Jostedalsbreen, which with 487 km2, is the largest glacier in mainland Europe.

And it wasn't clear anymore where the route was.
The walking route can be reached by car from Lake Lovatnet near Loen. You do have to pay a toll (cash) to get to the walking route by car (2022: 100 NOK).
I enjoy taking pictures of nature, from colorful flowers to the vast landscapes of Scotland and Norway. Photos of European cities can also be found in my shop. Whatever photos they are, I create them with the idea that they really add atmosphere to your home or workplace... Read more…
