Who has never marvelled at the beautiful family of parrots? Whether it is an ordinary parakeet or a pied macaw ... the colours splash off! Flying freely in a tropical environment or simply as a Dutch garden bird. You come across them everywhere. I remember when you used to see them right away if you visited Blijdorp zoo in Rotterdam. For me, it was a challenge to capture the beautiful colours of this parrot in watercolour. I chose to look at this beautiful bird sideways. So you can clearly see the gradient of the colours yellow, green and blue on top of the head. I suggested the feathers by leaving pieces of paper unpainted. For me, when I portrait an animal, it slowly comes to life while I am painting it. Hang this Macaw above the sofa or give it a prominent place in your office. He will feel at home anywhere! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did while painting it!

With nature as an inexhaustible source of inspiration, I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. As an artist, I am always learning. Until recently I drew mainly landscapes and still lifes with pencil. Recently I discovered the fascinating world of watercolor and learned to use it to depict the world around me. I can lose myself in that and it is very satisfying. Hopefully my drawn and painted work will add something to the embellishment of your interior and you will look at it with as much pleasure as I had in making it ;)
