Elianne van Turennout Profile picture The picture shows a peacock in the middle of a forest, where the light is muted by an overcast sky. The surrounding trees, with their dense foliage, filter the weak daylight, creating a mystical, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The peacock stands out beautifully against the austere background of dark and green. Despite the lack of bright sunlight, its feathers still shine enchantingly.

The peacock has partially opened its tail, subtly revealing the beautiful iridescent colours of deep blue and green. The "eyes" on its tail feathers seem to loom like ghostly lights in the soft light, giving them a mysterious glow. The bird's body balances gracefully on a carpet of moss and fallen leaves, which cover the forest floor and add a touch of texture to the scene.

The trees surrounding the peacock are decorated with ivy and ferns, their curved branches creating an almost gothic setting for the scene. The sound backdrop consists of the wind whispering through the leaves and the distant calls of birds, enhancing the silence of the forest. The atmosphere is cool and damp, with a light mist floating through the trees, making the peacock look even more like an enchanted creature from a fairy tale.

In this calm and slightly melancholic setting, the peacock exudes a quiet, stately beauty. Its colourful plumage brings a touch of vibrancy and magic to the calm, natural landscape, evoking a sense of wonder and reverence.

It all started with a4 paper and HB pencils. As a child I was often impressed by how beautiful the world around me was. The urge to capture this beautiful world, and to show the people around me what I saw, was actually there from the beginning. If I remember correctly, I was about eleven years old when I first met the camera. Of course it was a simple compact camera with a ridiculous quality, but I enjoyed it.

I sometimes said I wanted to be a photographer, but of course you have one of the two parents who says, "Dream on." Strangely enough, I followed the sarcastic remark as advice, and still went to study photography.
