More than a hundred million years ago, a vast white plain of dry water formed in Namibia: Etosha. Etosha is as big as the Netherlands. It is home to more than hundreds of animal species including the Kudu. It is always special to encounter a kudu.
Kudu have beautiful grey-brown fur with transverse white stripes and the males have magnificent long spiral horns.
Kudu are usually in the company of a few other kudu. Most were already drinking at a waterhole, but this kudu watched from a distance, keeping a close eye on everything.
The photo is extra special because the kudu's beautiful horns and eyes are clearly visible and sharp, and the twigs make the photo peaceful and well suited to hang on the wall as a work of art. Our first trip to Africa was one to remember: Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. With the highlight being Etosha National Park.
Exploring the world and capturing it to relive when you get back home produces a lot of photos. It was time to hang one on my own wall and maybe one on your wall too. ;-)
