The Peugeot 402 Dal'mart is still considered one of the most beautiful coupes ever built in Europe!
Peugeot 402 Dal'mart... Supercar... concept car... design study... show car...
All this is true, but not quite, because it is 1936. One year later, with Peugeot's permission, 3 cars were converted for Le Mans on the basis of the Peugeot 302 with the engine from the Peugeot 402.
Result of this approval, places 7,8,10 in the overall classification!
The 3 teams with Pujol/Contet, Cortanze/Greenhouse and Porthault/Rigal were driving with approx. 170 km/h. Enough to win for Le Mans and a 2.0 litre engine, in 1938 they even took 5th place, this time the drivers were Cortanze/Contet. Two other Dal'mart cars unfortunately failed this time. Afterwards 105 vehicles were sold at best, 53 of them roadsters, 20 coupes, 32 convertibles.
I have been practicing vintage car photography for more than 35 years and here I mainly photograph normal everyday vehicles which were still on the road en masse over 30 years ago. But also cars with extraordinary, beautiful design. From time to time I take pictures of cars, motorcycles and trucks of recent times, when they have particularly beautiful shapes, curves and somehow tempt to dream and drive like a BMW Z8. I find these automotive beauties not only in museums, but also in specialized workshops for vintage cars, with collectors who have invited me to photograph their classics or often in dark, dusty sheds and halls or simply parked at the roadside.
