Realistic acrylic painting of the Belgian sculptor Philippe Timmermans with his sculpture, painted by the Dutch fine artist Paul Meijering - the original painting is 90 x 120 cm and part of a permanent collection.
Philippe Timmermans was born in Wilrijk (Belgium) in 1957. He studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent.
For over thirty years, Philippe made three-dimensional prototypes, carried out sculptural commissions for museums, among others, and took care of design and publicity. Since 2011, he has mainly focused on his own free work.
His figurative sculptures try - in a contemporary way - to give shape to intangible feelings and reflections.
The more realistic sculptures are rooted in the tradition of classical sculpture and form cautious, vulnerable answers to diverse questions or reflections.
For almost 33 years now, Paul Meijering has been active with the paint brushes. As a 17- year old inspired youngster he joined the Academy of Arts in Enschede (Holland) in order to receive a native training in drawing- and painting technique.
