Art Nouveau Art Nouveau Paintings Alphonse Mucha
===
Alphonse Mucha [also written as Alphonse Mucha] (1860 - 1939) was an artist from the Czech Republic. His paintings in the famous Mucha Style works are inextricably linked to the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau art. The main source of inspiration of this art movement is nature.
The motives of the paintings are often long-stemmed, gracefully stylised plants and flowers (lilies, calyxes, irises, poppies, rosebuds), birds (swans, peacocks), dragonflies, the egg-form, clouds, water and rocks, often combined with slender female figures.
Besides painting many pictures and decorative art Mucha was also active in the world of freemasonry. He joined the Paris Grand Lodge in 1898 and later founded the Czech Freemasonry.
