About "Pointed roofs Wagenwerkplaats as rhythmic interplay of lines"

About the artwork

The gabled roofs of the Wagenwerkplaats attract me every time. As a resident of Amersfoort as well as a photographer, I see this place not only as industrial heritage, but also as an exercise in composition and rhythm. On a clear day, I walked onto the site, camera in hand, and looked up. The roof lines against the sky formed a kind of visual pattern that felt almost graphic. There is so much power in that simplicity, in the repetition of shapes and the contrast between light and shadow on the facades. For me, this is one of those places where you can create a strong image with minimal means. No busy surroundings, no colourful distractions, but pure lines, texture and perspective. This photograph is my way of showing the quiet beauty of these rooftops, and an ode to a place where old craftsmanship and photographic possibilities converge.
