Petten, December 27, 2016. After my work I'm going to take pictures of the Poles Village Petten which not so long standing on the beach. The poles form the silhouette of the church and ten houses in the former Petten, which was much further west than the present coastal village and was swallowed by the sea.
The conditions to photograph are beautiful. The golden hour, some clouds but not too much and flood, so that a portion of the poles are in the water. I use a 10-stop ND filter, so I can use a slow shutter speed so that the clouds are streaks and water "freezes".

I am Mirjam, 41 years old, married to Jacco and mother of Sanne (8) and Rens (6). I live in the beautiful town of Noord-Scharwoude (municipality of Langedijk in Noord-Holland), but I was born and raised in Dordrecht. Besides my job as stability coordinator at a laboratory in Petten and my busy family, I love to go out and take pictures. Since 2015 I have been trying to take this hobby to a better level by attending a Frank Peters workshop in Italy. I learned a lot about which settings to use under which circumstances and also about composition. The last four years I have practiced a lot and in September 2016 I went with Frank to Italy again. In November 2017 I spent a week photographing in Iceland.
I mainly photograph landscapes and cities. Dordrecht and Venice are favorites, but I also like to photograph in Alkmaar, Amsterdam and Deventer. After work I sometimes find myself on the beach of Petten, near the Palendorp that is located there.
