Port Grimaud is the port and seaside resort of the French fortified town of Grimaud in the department of Var. It was founded in 1964 and built on lagoons and dry marshes, thanks to capital of capitalists.
Port Grimaud seems like a second Venice. The town is connected to canals and bridges. The fire brigade and first aid services are all by boat. Cars may only park with a valid passport on the edge and within the walls of Port Grimaud. Suppliers, hotel guests and residents may park for the houses. Behind the houses are the private cages for their yachts.
In 1974, new residential areas with channels were built in the direction of Saint Tropez, which is five kilometers away. The demand for new houses there is high, and the purchase prices for these are high. The restaurants, bars and cafés have their terraces and tables right on the sidewalks. In the evening, the lagoon and canal town is lit with ball lights and lighting from the houses. There are organized cruises through Port Grimaud.
