This is a portrait of a man who is part of the Tufi tribe. This is a beautiful tribe in Papua New Guinea that lives by the sea. They are very different from the people who live more in the country. In terms of skin color but also in terms of clothing. Although they all have the feathers of a bird of paradise on their heads.
Hi! I'm a documentary photographer from The Hague, the Netherlands. I am fascinated by everything that threatens to disappear - from coffee tents in The Hague to nomads and other tribes all over the world. I also photograph everything that strikes me and often escapes the eye of others; the strange in the normal, the perfect imperfections, the unknown in the known.
In 2019 I published a book about a cultural phenomenon in The Hague: Bakkie Pleuâh - looking inside the coffee shop in The Hague. Now for sale.
