A standing photograph showing a portrait of a springbok. The buck enters the photo from the left and in the lower left corner is its neck. The head is in the center, slightly below and looking to the right.
The springbok (an antelope) is in the desert of Etosha National Park in Namibia. The landscape consists of barren yellow grass and sand. A few sharp blades of grass can be seen in the foreground.
The sky is bright blue, a little misty from the dust.
The buck has beautiful, sharp horns with a ribbing pattern. Its head is white with a brown stripe from the nose over the eye. The neck is light brown. It is the national animal of South Africa. The rugby team is also called the Springboks.
I took the picture during one of my safari trips in Africa.
Wildlife photographer with a great passion for Africa. In the Netherlands I photograph weddings, but I go to Africa as often as I can to create new work.
