Praia da Águia is one of the beaches in the Algarve where people have probably never walked on the sand. Surrounded by towering cliffs, rocks protruding from the water and foaming waves, this is not exactly the most inviting beach. Yet you can enjoy it once you walk along these cliffs at the top.
The west coast of the Algarve offers a beautiful contrast to the south coast. Here you will find almost no buildings and you will meet few people, especially in the low season.
The cliffs here are more than 100 metres high and the cracks and holes offer shelter in the breeding season for many species of birds that nest here.
Since there is often a strong wind on the west coast, I jump straight into the car as soon as the wind dies down to shoot pictures from above. Hope you enjoy this view as much as I do!
