Primal Ground is my attempt to let the language of the material itself speak-a language that precedes meaning, precedes interpretation. In this work, I have captured a weathered metal surface, in which vertical lines and rusty accents form a rhythm reminiscent of breathing: slow, layered, elusive.
The inspiration for this image came while observing industrial structures affected by time. What fascinates me is how decay can reveal beauty-how the passage of time leaves traces that say more than an intact surface ever could. In the spirit of German philosopher Meister Eckhart, who speaks of the primal ground as the origin of all images and words, I try to create an image that does not explain, but invites.
The atmosphere is hushed, almost sacred. The work evokes associations with the material sensibility of artists like Richard Serra or the photographic abstraction of Aaron Siskind. It is not an image, but a skin-a surface that invites you to keep looking.
What makes this work special is the space it leaves to the viewer. As a work of art on the wall, it is not a decoration, but a visual anchor point-a place where silence becomes visible.
